Camden Crawl 2011:
So was really lucky winning 2 VIP passes for this weekend Camden Crawl through Dazed Digital. So thought I would give all you lovelies the low down on some fab new bands, awesome comedy acts and random wonderfulness.
Got there on the Saturday at 1 with the fella and got our free passes then got stuck straight in with a comedy act- Abandoman the brilliant Irish rapping duo who rap spontaneously and made a song up just based on the bag contents of the crowd! http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/clips/p009lvsb/edinburgh_2010_abandoman/
We then went on to the Ray Bans Festival Bus, which as we had the VIP bands got us on first, as we were boarding the bus we were handed Ray Bans to wear- presuming we were gonna have to give them back at the end happily wore them jealously wishing I could keep them as we watched the up and coming band Spectrals on the bus at the front which if I had moved forward an inch would have been sitting on the lead singer lap! They played a light, summer set perfect for 4 in the afternoon with a beer. http://www.myspace.com/spectralspectral Leaving the bus we were handed the cases to the Ray Bans!!!! Crazy stuff so carried on the day rocking my new Ray Bans!
We carried on the rest of the day seeing amazing bands at the Roundhouse especially loving Dog is Dead http://www.myspace.com/dogisdeadband an tons more!
On the Sunday we carried on our love for the Roundhouse with 2:54 http://www.myspace.com/thetwofiftyfour and Young Dreams, had photos taken in the Ray Bans Photo Booth cabs and went into the Wrigley’s Ambient Senses Crate- a strange experience! We then went on to watch the awesome Hip Hop Shakespeare, a music theatre production company founded by hip-hop artist Kingslee “Akala” Daley Would performed raps and music based on Shakespeare. http://www.hiphopshakespeare.com/site/
We also saw the brilliant Wolf Gang http://wolf-gang.co.uk/ who I’m sure are gonna be huge at the Forum they played an awesome set with catchy tunes, also on their site you can get a free download of a new track. Basically my new tunnage crush is Wolf Gang! Then followed by The Guillemots http://www.guillemots.com (I completely geeked out when in the VIP bar met the lead singer!!) We were then walking over to the Electric Ballroom an ended up chatting with one of the guys who actually runs the event and gave us After show party bands! Razorlight were incredible with mostly all the old tunes- sending the crowd mad for tunes like “In the City” and “Golden Touch”. Finshed off with the Aftershow party with DJ’s and break dancing (not me haha) All in all it was amazing an a massive thank you to Dazed Digital for the awesome tickets!!!!!
